The tactics of desperation

From Paul as he apparently divines MLK's spirit to call for more gun laws.

I think MLK would be more concerned w/ why inner city students have a 51.8% graduation rate. 90% Black on Black crime rates, the advocation and glorification of violence, and his former followers (Jackson and Sharpton) using racism and his legacy to enrich themselves and keep themselves in the public eye.

Would MLK have supported laws specifically designed to disarm blacks? I'm not going to try and answer. But it should be noted that before he adopted Ghandian style non-violence, his home was protected by armed volunteers and he was denied a CCW permit under Alabama's racist gun control laws.

SIH has more.

Obviously they didn't quite grasp the concept...

Fights disrupt anti-violence rally at Southeast Side high school

An anti-violence rally at George Washington High School turned ugly Thursday when a series of fights broke out in a crowd of students being dismissed for the day.

Parents and students had gathered at 3 p.m. to protest what they said has been escalating violence between black and Latino students at the school, at 3535 E. 114th St. on the Far Southeast Side.

Tensions between the groups have persisted for years, parents and students said. But this week has been particularly violent, with several flare-ups that caused some parents to pull children out of school for their safety. Several parents said they would not allow their children to return to school until the violence was addressed.

And what could possibly be the cause?

Chicago Police Lt. Maury Richards, tactical lieutenant in the South Chicago district, said the violence stems from ongoing conflicts between the Latin Kings and Gangster Disciples. He said the school has seen a "flare-up" this week, drawing extra police presence.

What's that Laura? No Rural White Males instigating this?

Who uses Fear Mongering?

Our friendly local DC FFL holder throws out some PSH he probably found on Google over Henry Repeating Arms having possibly shipped loaded firearms. How does he spin it into hysteria? By stating they produce "youth" rifles and are unregulated by any federal agency.

That's right. Josh wants people to believe that they are regularly handing out loaded firearms to kids and a conspiracy to cover it up. Nevermind that the warning that the company sent out w/o needing any federal oversight specifically stated "This does not relate to a specific model or date. Each gun in your inventory must be checked for ammunition."
Nevermind that kids can't buy these guns even if they are designed for them. Nevermind that it was posted on the internet by one of their distributors. Nevermind that they have to go through dealers before it gets to any customer. That would cause people to have to change their shorts, now would it?

So who uses "fear mongering" tactics again?

Apparently Josh and Paul figured out that the feature showing where traffic was coming from to their blogs was merely free advertising for us. Hee hee.

Winte (should be) mute..

In regards to his recent "study":

New York and Chicago, which have long restricted handgun ownership and use, had fewer homicides in 2007 than at any other time since the early 1960s.

Never mind that Chicago was one of the top five for decades in homicides and crime and is still 3x higher than the national average. All during their ban. As I've shown before, if it were to drop into Lake Michigan, the Il homicide rate would be less than half of what it is currently.

permissive states generally have higher rates of gun-related deaths than others do

Notice the qualifier. He's including suicides of which "permissive states" have higher rates overall than others anyway.

n 1976, Washington, D.C., took action that was consistent with such evidence. Having previously required that guns be registered, the District prohibited further registration of handguns, outlawed the carrying of concealed guns, and required that guns kept at home be unloaded and either disassembled or locked. These laws worked. Careful analysis linked them to reductions of 25% in gun homicide and 23% in gun suicide, with no parallel decrease (or compensatory increase) in homicide and suicide by other methods and no similar changes in nearby Maryland or Virginia.4 Homicides rebounded in the late 1980s with the advent of "crack" cocaine, but today the District's gun-suicide rate is lower than that of any state.

Laughable to anyone who actually knows anything. He has to use more qualifiers and some Sudoku math* to get his claims. For years, DC homicides were at 90-100% firearm related. He blames it on drugs. Why doesn't he mention that the murder rate was already dropping in DC prior to the ban and then reversed itself 2 years after? Why doesn't he mention that the rates were increasing in VA and MD during the same periods anyway? Maybe the "gun suicide" rate is lower because criminals, the only ones with guns, don't normally commit suicide. What were the overall suicide trends before and in the other states? Tim Lambert at least shows before and after numbers, but not trends.

By promoting our sense of entitlement to gun use against one another, it could weaken the framework of ordered liberty that makes civil society possible.

Freedom is Slavery, Knowledge is Ignorance.

This is what the elite of the Anti academia has been reduced to, qualifiers and lying-by-omission to try and mislead the public and legislators into believing them. As Ahab says and I've mentioned earlier, when knuckle-draggers like me are disassembling their works w/ relative ease, it shows why we have been successful as of late. W/ the numbers we have, it makes it even easier.

Ahab and Uncle have more...

* filling in the required numbers to get the pre-determined result

This could not happen in Maryland

Here you go folks, in violence free Prince George Co. Matter of fact with in miles of Semi Precious stones back yard. What gets me is "Officials Undecided On Filing Charges" the kid should get a medal. But you need to understand the anti mindset.

Oh well

Killing innocents out of necessity...

Is the mindset of Al Qaida.

"We haven't killed the innocents, not in Baghdad, nor in Morocco, nor in Algeria, nor anywhere else," al-Zawahri said, according to a 46-page English transcript that accompanied the audio message posted on Web sites linked to al-Qaida...

"If there is any innocent who was killed in the mujahedeen's operations, then it was either an unintentional error or out of necessity," al-Zawahri said.

Does anyone still want to claim they can be "reasoned with"?

Paul drinks the Kool-Aid on Colored Guns..

What does he compare it to? A SNL skit.

So what colors are appropriate Paul? Which shades will be banned? How will you classify them?

Robb covers it well here.

I'm still wondering when Charles Wallace will appear on your staff list.

Roast leg of Ted

SayUncle notes that Ted Turner thinks the world will be reduced to cannibalism w/i 40 years.

I'm ready.

No crime here, just move along..

MP walks around her own constituency wearing body armor.

Harriet Harman has defended her decision to wear a stab-proof jacket during a police walkabout in her own constituency—claiming it was like donning a hard hat on a building site.

The Labour Party’s deputy leader rejected claims it suggested she did not feel safe on the streets.

Ms Harman, who is also Commons leader, said she wore the kevlar-reinforced vest as a “courtesy” to the neighbourhood policing team with whom she toured Peckham, South London.

Busy bees in Chicago

Anti's show they can play PR better as 400 students used as puppets get front page and multiple stories while 2500 in Springfield get barely a mention in the opinion section and that being negative. The comments show a different opinion from the general public however.

Another "child" and "good boy" shot: Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond said police were investigating whether Brown's slaying was gang-related. Detective also are looking into whether the shooting was in retaliation for an earlier beating that may have involved Brown, a police source said.

But I'm sure this one was just "random violence" though:

An 18-year-old man who was walking on the far South Side was shot Tuesday evening and died about three hours later, police said.

No chance of it also being "gang related", is there?

FBI must have been "spray firing from the hip" w/ their "patrol rifles":

The FBI has suspended shooting at a portion of its North Chicago shooting range after nearly 40 spent bullets and fragments were found in a nearby beach and park -- including under a swing set.

While another "Chicago's Finest" goes off his meds:

A South Side Chicago Police officer has been charged with three counts of official misconduct and domestic battery for allegedly attacking a woman Tuesday morning on the South Side while on duty.

Obviously tougher gun laws are the answer.

Unpossible..

He who shall not be named specifically stated that we were losing. Why then did the anti-gun bills in PA get thrashed while the pro-rights ones passed? If only "He who shall not be named" was still on the CF PA board. I'm sure all firearms would be banned and confiscated by now.

Will Bryan Miller of CF NJ, who has no affiliation w/ CF PA in any way, claim this as a victory as well?

It's the guns, right?

WAYCROSS, Ga. - A group of third-graders plotted to attack their teacher, bringing a broken steak knife, handcuffs, duct tape and other items for the job and assigning children tasks including covering the windows and cleaning up afterward, police said Tuesday.

Obviously the mind control chips have a longer range than previously believed.

And of course:

"From what I understand, they were considered pretty good kids,

Sure, except for being aspiring sociopaths that is.

Irony hits Blagojevich like a ton of bricks..

Chicago bans handgun ownership and sales, and Daley regularly pushes gun-control measures at the state Capitol in Springfield, where lawmakers are divided more by geography than political allegiances. Legislators in and around Chicago tend to favor gun restrictions, while downstaters usually argue for hunter and gun owners' rights.

Blagojevich urged the rally's participants to make their voices heard in Springfield and Washington, D.C. ``How many more children have to die before the men and women who make the rules wake up and start responding to the needs of communities and kids that go to our schools?'' he said.

I don't know Guv. Why don't you tell us how many more will die before Daley, you, and his other puppets wake up? w/ 1/3 the crime rate of Chicago, the rest of the state seems to be doing something right.

Second verse same as the first..

In Chicago...

two other teens were shot and wounded, one of them seriously,

The victims and the shooter had gang affiliations, police said, adding that the victims and their alleged assailant were believed to be affiliated with two different street gangs.

The three shootings are one of several in recent weeks in Chicago, prompting calls for stricter gun control laws in Illinois.

One student opined:

Simeon student Ronnie Mosley said easy access to guns has been a plague to his generation.

Even though you used to be able to walk into any hardware store or Sears and walk out w/ a gun. Even though you used to be able to order them from ads in the newspaper. Maybe it has more to do w/ his 'generation', the crap they listen to, and those they hold up as examples.

WaronGuns has more. It should be noted that the Chicago Public School system, which has an attendance rate as low as 66% and an average GPA of lower than a C, is spending money to bus students downtown for their protest.

50 Cents worth of attention span...

After first supporting Hillary then Obama, 2 bit rapper 50 cent has lost interest in the election:

"To be honest, I haven't been following that anymore. I lost my interest," he said. "I listened to some of the debate and things that they were saying, and I just got lost in everything that was going on. ... Don't look for my vote, for me to determine nothing on that.

We need more supporters like that. On their side. Will this be the trend for the rest of the MTV generation? Short term fanaticism during the Primaries then losing interest by the time the General Election comes around? Will the 18-24 set once again give returns of less than 15% due to their lack of..

Hey a new video's on. Later.

If the world doesn't end by May, keep waiting..

A Russian doomsday cult has barricaded itself awaiting the apocalypse. Their preacher has other things to do though:

Russian authorities said the splinter sect of the Russian Orthodox church was formed by preacher Pyotr Kuznetsov, who convinced members the world would end in April.

Kuznetsov did not join his followers underground, saying God had given him different tasks.

True believers. Kind of like Daley et al disarming the subjects of Chicago and walking around w/ a security detachment.

Digging themselves deeper..

A school in WI censors certain religious expression in art from one somewhat obsessive student yet allegedly allows others. Administrators apparently don't realize the sh*tstorm they just unleashed and tell said kid he's violating other people's rights.

I like this little contradiction:

Millin told the boy he had signed away his constitutional rights when he signed the policy at the beginning of the semester.

vs.

Millin stated at the meeting the cross in the drawing also infringed on other students’ rights.

So some students have rights but others don't?

I can see some tax dollars flying out the window on this lawsuit.

Jayne Lyn Stahl: Still Clueless on Guns

In her recent HuffPo post, she goes after a new Indiana law requiring book sellers to register if they are selling adult related material. Most of it is her standard incoherent rambling and nonsense:

HB 1042, which was signed, two weeks ago, by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, does not go into effect until July, and groups like the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression are organizing to compel the governor to veto it.

How can it be vetoed after he already signed it? If I'm ignorant on that subject, please educate me.

In one point she flat out lies:

Under this law, a bookseller must not only pay a usurious $250 registration fee, but also provide a detailed description of the work which may include not only novels, but school texts dealing with health, and sexuality issues.

Yet the law states:

b) The term does not include: (1) birth control or contraceptive devices; or
(2) services, programs, products, or materials provided by a:
(A) communications service provider (as defined in IC 8-1-32.6-3);
(B) physician; or
(C) public or nonpublic school.

However, in this rant, she has to take another swipe at firearm ownership:

While the Supreme Court gets to ponder whether or not to allow the D.C. handgun ban to stand, think about this: you're not legally required to register your rifle, shotgun, or handgun in the state of Indiana, but if you own a bookstore in that state, you're now required to register books that contain "sexually explicit materials," according to a new law...

..it is yet another symptom of just how demented it is to mandate registering books, and not firearms.

Obviously in all her research, she forgets that FFL dealers are required to keep exacting records of their inventory and sales while purchasers are required to undergo background checks. But one shouldn't let the facts get in the way at a good PSH.

I actually agree w/ her that the law is a first step in a slippery-slope. Now she knows how we feel. At least she shows that our statements on what would an anti writer do if the 1A was held up the same "reasonable restrictions" as what they want for the 2A have been shown to be accurate.

7 dead, 14 wounded over weekend.

in handgun free Chicago. The reaction? Calls for more gun laws and a march in the relative safety of downtown w/ our good buddy Snuffy. Why don't they march in Englewood were most of these killings are occurring? Why is it always "good kids" that are being caught up in gang violence? How can there still be so much gun related crime when guns are effectively banned in Chicago?

While fellow gang members gathered outside the hospital to hold a vigil for him, rival gang members showed up at the hospital and opened fire into the crowd. One man, who was affiliated with Haro's gang, was struck by gunfire.

Initially, police said the bullets may have come from a tavern about a block away, where street gang members had been kicked out about the same time, the source said.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the lower back in a drive-by shooting in the Stony Island Park neighborhood on the South Side on Friday evening. Less than two hours later, two men were shot in a drive-by shooting on the Far South Side.

As the officer attempted to intervene, one or more of the men pulled out a gun and began firing shots,

The girl was walking with people who were the intended targets, and the shooting appears to be gang-related, according to Calumet Area detectives.

Miguel Pedro, 15, was shot to death on the Northwest Side on Friday night, just a few doors down from his home on the 1600 block of North Keeler Avenue, after someone shouted gang slogans at him.

Many of the 120 students from the housing project have not been to school since March 7 because they fear retaliation after a reputed gang member from ABLA shot and killed another student who lived on a rival gang's turf.

Oh, right. All those "rural white males" driving up w/ pickups full of mind controlling guns to sell them on the streets. I forgot.

Hillary really was under sniper fire in Bosnia

Video evidence.

Herb Meeker responds..

You have a point, but if you noticed I was quoting Associated Press from ATF stats. I do know a few people possessing authentic AK-47s not necessarily cheapie clones. However, they are not criminals and obey the laws. I once owned and shot an SKS from China. And I have shot a friends' AR-15 (personally, I think it sucked) and his M-14 (It really rocked), but never any fully automatic weapons. It was fun to use the SKS on empty plastic oil containers, 2-liter sodey bottles and other items for "ballistic tests." Since marriage I am all but unarmed. The drawback of marrying a pacificist. I believe I did note in the story the AR-15s with MPD are semi-automatic weapons, not submachine guns. But you are right on misconceptions on these weapons by the general public, and gun haters. People think they are bullet sprayers.
